Remove Limescale with Lemon
Lemon is effective at descaling and removing odours. This is why it makes a great natural cleaning product for the home. Follow these steps to remove limescale with lemon:
- Cut a lemon in half and squeeze the juice into a bowl
- Dip a clean sponge into the juice and dab and rub it over the limescaled area
- Alternatively, you can rub the affected area with a half wedge of lemon and leave for 15 – 20 minutes
- Scrub the area with a soft bristled brush to remove dirt
- Rinse and wipe down with a clean cloth
Remove Limescale with Vinegar
Vinegar is another effective cleaning agent. It’s a natural disinfectant and great at removing odours and stains. Follow these steps to remove limescale with vinegar:
- Mix equal parts water and equal parts white wine vinegar into a spray bottle
- Shake the bottle and spray it over the limescale
- Leave it for 15 – 20 minutes and then scrub with a sponge or bristled brush
- Wipe down with a clean cloth soaked in warm water
- Repeat the process if necessary
Remove Limescale with Baking Soda
- Baking soda is adept at removing limescale from affected areas. It’s a mild alkali, helping grease and dirt to dissolve fast for easy removal. Follow these steps to remove limescale with baking soda:
- Add baking soda and water into a bowl and mix into a thick paste
- Apply this paste onto the limescaled area and leave for 30 – 40 minutes
- Scrub gently with a sponge to dislodge tough dirt and limescale
- Wipe down with a clean cloth soaked in warm water
